PSEforSPEED Webinar 2024

PSE for SPEED is happy to announce, as part of its webinar series, a webinar on Wednesday, 29 May 2024 (13:30 – 16:00 CET) on the topic of “Intelligent, flexible and consistent process and design: Hybrid AI with ML and domain knowledge” with presentations by Prof. Venkat Venkatasubramanian, Dr. Vipul Mann and our CEO, Prof. Rafiqul Gani.

The webinar will include lectures on theory, background, synthesis-design technique plus a tutorial on the different steps of the methodology.
More specifically, the following topics (issues) will be highlighted:

  • Unified, multi-level flowsheet representation
    • Symbolic AI for flowsheets
    • Grammar for flowsheets
  • Generation (synthesis-design) of flowsheets
    • Consistent problem definition
    • Autocompletion of only feasible flowsheets
  • Integrated AI and tools for process design, analysis & simulation
    • Multi-layered hypergraphs
    • Case studies

More information on the methodology can be found in our recent published paper on “eSFILES: Intelligent process flowsheet synthesis using process knowledge, symbolic AI, and machine learning”, Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2024 (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0098135423003757)
