Postdoctoral Researcher

Anjan Tula is a  Postdoctoral researcher at Dept of Chemical Engineering, Auburn University and head of Process Engineering division of PSE for SPEED. His main area of expertise is in the development of computer-aided methods for process synthesis and innovation

He received his B.E. degree in chemical engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India, in 2007 and master’s degree from Lamar University, Texas, USA in the year 2010. As a part of his master’s thesis, Anjan worked for TCEQ (Texas Commission of Environmental Quality) funded project under the guidance of Prof. Helen Lou. The project was to develop a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) model in conjunction with extensive kinetic models to estimate HRVOCs, such as formaldehyde, un-burnt hydrocarbons, and other radical species, disposed into the atmosphere through industrial flaring of C1-C4 hydrocarbons. In 2010, he joined research & development wing of general electric’s water business as a technologist. During this period he worked for R&D initiatives in water treatment technologies for cooling towers and boilers. He was the recipient of the GE’s “Young Engineer Award” in year 2012 and various management awards during his tenure at GE. Later he joined Prof. Gani’s research team at Technical University of Denmark and obtained a doctorate degree in the area of process synthesis-design and analysis. His work has been widely accepted and published in several international conferences and journals.
